Annual United States Day honoring military Veterans Day is an annual United States holiday honoring military veterans. A federal holiday, it is observed on November 11. It is also celebrated as Armistice Day or Remembrance Day in other parts of the world, falling on November 11, the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I.

In 1954, President Dwight Eisenhower expanded Armistice Day to celebrate all veterans, not just those who served in World War I.
Congress amended this act on June 1, 1954, replacing “Armistice” with Veterans, and it has been known as Veterans Day since then.

Although originally scheduled for celebration on November 11 of every year, Veterans Day was moved to the fourth Monday of October. In 1978 it was moved back to its original celebration on November 11.

Nowadays honoring acts are hell all over United States of America, as following examples:

 American Legion Post 104 and Auxiliary Unit 104 along with Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9855 and Auxiliary Unit 9855 will sponsor a ceremony on Thursday, November 11, 2010, at 11:00 A.M. at the Veterans Wall of Honor in the Appomattox Courthouse Square.
 Special ceremonies sponsored by Deerfield American Legion Post 738 on Thursday, November 11. will take place at 11 am at the Veterans Memorial in the southwest corner of Jewett Park, in Deerfield
 American Legion General Leonard E. Wood Post 162 of Hillsdale, Old Tappan and Woodcliff Lake plan to hold a Veterans Day ceremony at Veterans Park in downtown Hillsdale.

Many veterans attending this ceremonies were students in different military schools and they can share memories and feel respect and love they inspire.

This program provides the opportunity to show appreciation and say thank you to those who have risked their lives to protect our country and to those who have made the supreme sacrifice for our country,” said people from organization.
