Weapons Maintenance Technicians

Job specification

The military has been spending billions of dollars just to boost its might as far as buying weapons, missiles and all other types of armaments. To fully maintain these weapons the military also hired the services of Weapons Maintenance Technicians. Thet are considered enlisted personnel in the organization and they are responsible in maintaining these weapons as well as repair them when needed.


The usual duties and responsibilities of Weapons maintenance technicians in the military chain of command include:

• Direct in the repair of malfunctioning infantry weapons, main artillery and naval guns

• Conduct cleaning schedules and lubrication of fire control systems, sites and gyroscopes

• Conduct maintenance repair of launch systems, missile mounts and other other flatforms

• Spearhead in the conduct of testing and adjustments of launch system, weapons firing system, and guidance system

• Conduct maintenance of power generation distribution, load equipment, environmental control and other supports systems

• Regularly maintain and operate automated processor, conduct munitions accounting, research and computations

Ideal traits

The field of study which is helpful in this kind of job in the military includes math and sciences. Other subject matters that are also helpful are:

• Excellent skills in doing detailed works as part of the effective process

• Enthusiasm in fully understanding the use of electronic as well as electrical equipment

The Weapons maintenance technicians work in machine shops, testing labs and other weapons shops installed by the military. The also travel to other milirary bases when the need arises.
