When the military personnel are in combat zones and few members gets wounded physicians are not always available to take care of the wounded soldiers. In this situation, the medical service technicians provide the service of taking care of the wounded in lieu of the physicians. They give emergency treatment to wounded combatants and officers.

The usual duties and responsibilities of Medical Service Technicians in the military chain of command include:
Take care of emergency treatment to wounded soldiers in the line of fire or battle field
Conduct interview to patients and get their medical histories
Monitor patients blood pressure, pulse and temperature
Get blood samples from patients for laboratory tests
