The Water and Sewage Treatment Plant Operators are enlisted personnel in the military chain of command. They are responsible in taking care of the water treatment facility in military bases. They get purified water from the treatment facility when public water services don’t have water supply for certain periods of time.


The usual duties and responsibilities of Water and sewage treatment plant operators in the military include:

• Use pumps to get water from the reservoir to the treatment facility so that after processing potable water can be used for used for drinking

• Add chemicals to purify water and make it potable and safe for drinking

• Conduct water testing for chlorine content and impurities

• Monitor the flow of water to meet the need of the military population

• Direct the cleansing of water treatment machinery including maintenance

• Record data on water treatment periods, and maintenance
